Hillary Clinton Responds to John McCain

"The two party conventions showcased vastly different directions for our country. Senator Obama and Senator Biden offered the new ideas and positive change America needs and deserves after eight years of failed Republican leadership. Senator McCain and Governor Palin did not.

"After listening to all of the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to fix the economy for middle class families, provide quality affordable health care for all Americans, guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, restore our nation's leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces.

"So, to slightly amend my comments from Denver: NO WAY, NO HOW, NO McCAIN-PALIN."

McCain's campaign lobbyists

Obama, "They must think you're stupid!"

Yes, Barack. They do think that!

Scarborough On McCain Campaign’s War Against The Media: ‘I Think They’re Making A Mistake’

Attacking the press for conservatives, for Republicans, it always provides a sugar high. It excites the base. It is never ever worth the pay off. … Don’t engage in a war. I think McCain’s campaign is making a mistake. Because that never pays off in the end.

But, they’ve adopted that strategy. Make no mistake of it. They’ve adopted the strategy publicly, privately. They’re fighting behind the scenes. And we’ll see — maybe it works this year. I don’t think so though.

Palin Accuses 'Obama/Biden Democrats' of Attacking Her Family, But Campaign Can't Name One

ABC News:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sent out a fundraising solicitation today that charged that “the Obama/Biden Democrats have been vicious in their attacks directed toward me, my family and John McCain.”

I asked spokespeople of the McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee just which “Obama/Biden Democrats” they’re referring to.

The response I got was that Obama spokesman Mark Bubriski erroneously attacked Palin as a supporter of Pat Buchanan.

That’s it. That’s the evidence.

An attack on Palin herself.

In other words, they can’t name one person affiliated with the Obama-Biden campaign who attacked the Palin family.

Palin's Not Ready

The GOP spin is she is not ready. They don't want her to make a mistake.

Tell me, if she were a democrat, the republicans would be relentless in the fear card! There are major issues in the world and we cannot have someone on any ticket that doesn't know what is going on in the world!

If she can't stand up to the press now, how can she stand up to world leaders should she be called upon to be president?

Republicans would have a field day with her if she were a democrat.

Daily Show comparision of Bush and McCain

Watch the video and give it time. He plays exerts from their acceptance speeches. Anyone that doesn't think Bush is the same as McCain is just closed minded.

Boxer Fights Back

Last night at the Republican National Convention, John McCain used the word "fight" more than 40 times in his speech.

In the 16 years that we have served together in the Senate, I have seen John McCain fight.

I have seen him fight against raising the federal minimum wage 14 times.

I have seen him fight against making sure that women earn equal pay for equal work.

I have seen him fight against a women's right to choose so consistently that he received a zero percent vote rating from pro-choice organizations.

I have seen him fight against helping families gain access to birth control.

I have seen him fight against Social Security, even going so far as to call its current funding system "an absolute disgrace."

And I saw him fight against the new GI Bill of Rights until it became politically untenable for him to do so.

John McCain voted with President Bush 95 percent of the time in 2007 and 100 percent of the time in 2008 -- that's no maverick.

We do have two real fighters for change in this election -- their names are Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
