Who's Playing Politics Now?

The current fight between Reid and McConnell is over the attempt by the GOP to have the vote on Graham's amendment come to the floor with a simple "up or down" 50 votes. They want the Graham amendment to get favorable treatment, but are forcing a cloture vote on the Webb amendment.

Reid's position is that if the bill is intended as an equivalent or substitute bill to Webb's, then it should be treated the same as Webb's and be subect to cloture as well.

But what this all boils down to is the GOP trying to avoid taking tough votes on the most critical issue of the day--getting us out of Iraq. They are shameless
