John Edwards, who abandoned his Democratic presidential bid earlier this year, endorsed Sen. Barack Obama today.
The endorsement, long sought by Obama and his rival, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, came this afternoon at a rally. A smiling Obama took the stage and thanked the thousands of cheering supporters.
"I am fired up," Obama said. "I am fired up. I am fired up to be in Michigan. I am fired up to be in Grand Rapids."
Obama noted he couldn't campaign in Michigan earlier but was making up for it today.
